Cup 3 Rules

Preliminary Rounds

In the Cup 3 preliminary rounds, if the game is all square at full time, there is no extra time and the game shall be decided by the taking of penalty kicks. See below for more info for each age group:

  • U9s - U10s: No extra time; 3 penalties each; then sudden death.
  • U11s - U12s: No extra time; 4 penalties each; then sudden death.
  • U13s: No extra time; 5 penalties each; then sudden death.

Semi Finals

In the Cup 3 Semi Finals, if the game is all square at full time, there is one period of extra time. If it is still all square after this, then the game shall be decided by the taking of penalty kicks. See below for more info for each age group:

  • U9s - U10s: One period of 3 mins extra time; then 3 penalties each; then sudden death.
  • U11s - U12s: One period of 4 mins extra time; then 4 penalties each; then sudden death.
  • U13s: One period of 5 mins extra time; then 5 penalties each; then sudden death.

Finals

In the Cup 3 Finals, if the game is all square at full time, there are two periods of extra time. If it is still all square after this, then the game shall be decided by the taking of penalty kicks. See below for more info for each age group:

  • U9s - U10s: Two periods of 3 mins extra time; then 3 penalties each; then sudden death.
  • U11s - U12s: Two periods of 4 mins extra time; then 4 penalties each; then sudden death.
  • U13s: Two periods of 5 mins extra time; then 5 penalties each; then sudden death.

Please Note
As all the Cup 3 games are on a knock out basis, should a team not turn up for their fixture or call it off, then due to the time restrictions in place, the opposing team will get a walk over.

Also, a lot of districts will soon be organising tournaments, so please can teams be aware that we are unable to work around these due to the time constraints we have in place to finish the season. Teams must inform us if they have entered a tournament as if they have, then no fixtures will be re-arranged to accommodate them, so the game shall be awarded to their opposition.
